JAN
international, fine_dining · ★★★ Michelin
€€€€
This restaurant has firmly established itself among the world's top-tier dining destinations. The ability of Jan Hartwig and his team to bridge the gap between French culinary artistry and German classics is impressive. Dishes such as meatloaf, egg with mustard sauce and Handkas mit Musik are transformed into something spectacular. Each creation dazzles – the quality of the ingredients is beyond question, and the craftsmanship is masterful. In the seven-course set menu, every detail is precisely executed and well thought out, with a clear sense of identity, featuring inventive and sometimes su

In a great central location just a few minutes' walk from Marienplatz, chef-patron Christoph Kunz delivers wonderfully flavourful and fuss-free modern cuisine in the form of a four-course set menu at lunchtime and an eight-course dinner menu. The dishes are elaborate, while maintaining elegant simplicity – with just three main components going into sometimes quite surprising combinations, the talented chef creates fantastic marriages of flavours, such as Portuguese red mullet fillet seared briefly on the skin, cut into strips and served with delicately sweet, crisp young peas and an aromatic f

This remarkable restaurant in Hotel Bayerischer Hof is reminiscent of an artist's studio – chic grey dominates the colour scheme, and everything is tastefully done, down to the last detail. This understated luxury provides the backdrop, courtesy of Axel Vervoordt's interior design. Always on hand, the extremely personable and young yet experienced waitstaff pull out all the stops. There has been a change in kitchen leadership, with Kevin Romes (known from Skin's – the restaurant in Lenzburg) now at the helm. Come and see how he channels the wealth of experience gained at renowned establishment

Tohru in der Schreiberei
international · ★★★ Michelin

It is absolutely worth climbing the 23 steps of the beautiful steep wooden staircase that leads to this tasteful, upscale restaurant, which has been designed with an eye for detail. In this historic location (Munich's oldest town house, where the city's history started to be recorded in 1552), Tohru Nakamura – a Munich-born chef of German-Japanese descent – artfully bridges the gap between classic French and European cuisine and the culinary traditions of Japan. The combination of ingredients and flavours from both cultures makes for a unique twist, for example, in the perfectly cooked, delica

Alois - Dallmayr Fine Dining
Creative, Modern Cuisine · ★★ Michelin

Dallmayr is a name that has always been synonymous with good taste and excellent ingredients, and the same can be said for Alois. Head through the bar to a staircase that leads you up to the first floor of the iconic delicatessen. This is a chic and elegant setting in which to savour Rosina Ostler's cuisine, which skilfully blends classic French and Nordic styles with her Bavarian roots. This gives the array of 15 - 17 dishes on the menu a unique hallmark: cleverly devised, thoughtfully structured and at the same time delicate creations. Allow plenty of time in order to immerse yourself comple

You will find Katrin and Fabrice Kieffer's smart restaurant on the first floor of the Schäfflerhof in the heart of the old town, just a few steps away from the Frauenkirche. Diners take their seats in a triangular room with floor-to-ceiling windows that afford a view of the hustle and bustle of the city below. Nathalie Leblond is at the helm in the kitchen, sending out modern French dishes that can be ordered as a set menu or à la carte. The preparation is meticulous, the combinations innovative, the interplay of textures and temperatures skilful - such as black cod, eel dashi, parmesan, spina

Sparkling Bistro
Modern Cuisine, Farm to table · ★ Michelin

"Bistro" may not accurately capture the essence of this restaurant in the Schwabing neighbourhood, as the name dates back to an earlier era. Tucked away in Amalienpassage, the establishment exudes a pleasingly understated elegance, with Swiss stone pine from Austria contributing to the appealing atmosphere. The standard of the cuisine is every bit as impressive as the lovely, slick decor. The kitchen team headed up by owner Jürgen Wolfsgruber and Leander Bauer delivers two set menus: the five-course "Gustostückerl" in the evening and the four-course "Marktmenü" at lunchtime. Brothers
Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

The "Brothers" in question are the Klaas twins, who have already made a name for themselves as maître d' and sommelier on the restaurant scene; the name also alludes to the brotherly spirit in the team, which includes head chef Daniel Bodamer. He draws on experience gained during stints at some top establishments to create modern dishes with classical foundations and international influences, using excellent produce in the process. A set menu is also drawn from the à la carte selection and the well-curated wine list will delight lovers of sparkling wines, Burgundy and German Riesling. High-qua
