This attractive winegrower's house dating back to 1747 stands in the centre of the town. Stefan Püngeler and his wife Michela De Munno – well-known figures in the region – have taken over the reins here after a successful run at Restaurant Schneider in Dernbach. He is in charge of the kitchen, and she is responsible for the friendly service. On the menu: flavoursome Italian fare – the house-made pasta is a particular highlight. Remaining true to the Südliche Weinstraße, Sandra Bernhard and Jochen Sitter moved from Birkweiler to this 300 year-old former coaching house, which they run with great dedication and charm. The chef cooks traditional and modern, but above all, flavoursome fare. Dishes include classics such as pan-friend black pudding and Saumagen (stuffed pig’s stomach).
