La Stüa de Michil - Simone Cantafio

Creative, International · ★ Michelin

€€€€

To get to this restaurant you head up towards the church in the prettiest part of Corvara, where you’ll find the La Perla hotel, one of the best in the valley, on your left. Once inside the hotel, you’ll be accompanied to La Stüa (stube in Ladin), where the profusion of wood lends an intimate and romantic feel to the decor. Although the setting is typical of the region, Simone Cantafio’s cuisine will take you on an extraordinary culinary journey. Originally from Calabria, this chef worked for many years in Japan, just one of his many formative experiences. As a result, his dishes feature diffe

Ladinia

Regional Cuisine, Italian Contemporary

€€€

Both the Berghotel Ladinia and its restaurant of the same name boast a warm, vintage Alpine-style ambience, with wood decor that tells the story of this business which opened as a simple inn back in 1930. Little has changed since then and guests return here time after time thanks to the warm welcome and attention to detail offered by the Costa family. The traditional cuisine has the occasional modern twist, while the few Ladin-style guestrooms are decorated with a profusion of wood.

Rifugio Col Alt

During the day this restaurant can be reached in just a few minutes by cable car, providing you with breathtaking views of the Dolomites, while in the evening (when the service is more attentive – things are faster paced at lunchtime) you have to arrange transport via snowcat. The name “refuge” refers only to the location as the cuisine is definitely that of a restaurant: although the menu features hearty mountain fare, it also includes modern options and a few fish-based recipes, including oysters. Last but not least, there’s a good selection of wines.

From Corvara, take the ultra-modern Boè cable-car to this restaurant (accessible also on skis or by foot) which is one of the dining options at the Piz Boè Alpine Lounge (for access, turn right as you exit the cable-car). Open at lunchtime only, KELINA serves unexpectedly gourmet cuisine in a minimalist-style dining room which allows the stunning views of Sassongher, Santa Croce and La Varella to take centre stage through the restaurant’s large floor-to-ceiling windows. The dishes are always modern and creative, combining Alpine ingredients with fresh fish – the red prawns with scampi mayonnai
