Genuss-Apotheke
Creative, Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin
€€€€
All that remains of the pharmacy that once stood here is the reference to it in this establishment's name. These days, a restaurant with a fresh, modern concept awaits you behind its large windows. Seated at beautifully laid tables in a bright, minimalist interior, diners find their gaze drawn to the open kitchen. Here, chef-patron Raimar Pilz cooks creatively with top-notch ingredients. He always successfully incorporates piquant herbs in his subtle and nuanced dishes, such as "grilled scallop in its shell, celeriac, lauchasche seasoning" or "steamed perch, mussel-whey emulsion, dill oil". Landgasthof Ochsen

Here at this inn dating back to 1288, the food is terrific – the skilful chef clearly pours a lot of love into his cooking. As well as regional dishes and classics, Asian and Mediterranean influences make their way onto the menu. A meal in their Gaststube is a somewhat simpler affair. There is a lovely terrace overlooking the pond, plus a charming smoking lounge. They offer comfortable and functional guestrooms, along with a charging point for electric vehicles.

Brasserie Brugg

In this modern brasserie near the train station, the setting is inviting, sleek and accented with Art Deco touches. Large floor-to-ceiling windows flood the room with light and enhance the welcoming atmosphere. The terrace is lovely too. The cuisine is predominantly French-inspired – modern in its interpretation, precisely executed and packed with flavour. Subtle Asian influences appear here and there. The menu features dishes such as beef tartare with ponzu vinaigrette, or lobster bisque with lemongrass and vanilla, as well as classic and regional specialities such as braised beef cheeks, tru

Farm to table, Seasonal Cuisine

Located in the pedestrian area, not far from the Rhine River, this modern yet cosy little restaurant serves ambitious seasonal cuisine in the evening. You can either order the set menu or choose à la carte; on Wednesday and Thursday evenings there is also an appealing sharing menu for two. Vegetarian options are also available if ordered in advance. For lunch, there are simpler, more moderately priced daily specials. Delicatessen goods and wine can be purchased to enjoy at home.

Kamino
Mediterranean Cuisine, Country cooking
€€€
The Zumkeller family have transformed what was once Chämi-Hüsli into this cosy restaurant and tapas bar – the striking fireplace with extended flue after which Kamino is named presides in the middle of the dining area, which has a high ceiling and a round floor plan. The classic and Mediterranean cuisine always has a modern touch and a certain pizazz. Dishes such as roasted sea bass fillet with home-made tagliarini and lobster cream give the tasty tapas a run for their money. The icing on the cake is the charming service provided by owner Stefanie Zumkeller and her team. For an overnight stay,

At this exceedingly well-run establishment dating from the 19C, you have the option of dining in either a snug tavern or an elegant restaurant. The shady terrace to the rear of the building is delightful in summer! Adept service comes courtesy of a friendly and laid-back front-of-house team. The cuisine emphasises regional and seasonal elements. Among the menu classics, the Wiener schnitzel clearly stands out. In the evening, order à la carte or opt for a six-course set menu. Lunchtime options are more limited and budget-friendly.
