It was in the kitchens of Paul Bocuse and Régis Marcon, among others, that Christophe Roure learned the ropes. He holds three professional qualifications (in cookery, charcuterie and pastry-making, no less!) and was named Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 2007. Based in Lyon since 2014, he showcases his qualities as a chef day in, day out: subtle inventiveness, precision in his marriages of flavours, and of course an impeccable choice of ingredients. For example, his shellfish and miller mushroom ragoût is a marvel of balance and finesse, in which the lemongrass-scented hollandaise sauce teases ou

Chef Carlos Camino, a native of Peru, takes you on a cheerful tour of French-Peruvian cuisine in a lovely contemporary-style dining area complete with open kitchen. This chic and refined space is the setting for the sincere and personal cuisine of a chef whose maturity and commitment elevate top-notch produce. Striking flavours and interplays of textures: intelligent, poetic cuisine, such as the hierba luisa ceviche, tiger's milk with black cocoa, or the palo santo braised pota (giant squid), seafoam and nikkei sauce. A tasty and adventurous place.

Le Restaurant is 10 minutes from Lyon Saint-Priest Parc Technologique. Sit at your table surrounded by artwork by young artists and enjoy well-crafted traditional cuisine, with a few exotic twists. The menu is rooted in the terroir: lentils and runny poached egg flavoured with bacon, or artisan-made hot sausage poached in wine and cut into good generous slices!

In this friendly neo-bistro, the menu gets straight down to business - it is concise, to the point and stars dishes that are as hearty and unpretentious as they are delicious, while the wine list showcases regional (but not only) producers. The chef’s consummate technical know-how shines through in his perfect mastery of cooking times and techniques, while the desserts are fully equal to those of any high-flying pastry chef. A warm welcome and slick, smiling service. If they are full, try L'Escapade Danton next-door.

Start with sciatt, crunchy cheese fritters typical of Valtellina, Lombardy, followed by traditional Piedmontese vitello tonnato, finishing with a migliaccio, a creamy cake from Naples made with semolina and ricotta and perfumed with citrus fruits. The duo who runs this authentic trattoria embarks diners on a whirlwind gourmet tour of Italy. Everything is fresh and made from scratch - even the coffee comes from a local artisan roaster. Delicious food without killer prices.

The brainchild of a Franco-Korean couple of chefs who met in New York, the ubiquitous chicken is the star of this vintage bistro dripping in charm. The chef, former right-hand man of Daniel Boulud, signs a wholesome modern score founded on textbook classical skills. An example: his high-flying signature dish - gateau of sautéed chicken livers. Eater-friendly priced lunchtime menu.

Saku is the nickname of the chef of this establishment tucked away behind a nondescript façade. He and his wife, both of whom are Japanese, prepare jubilant Gallic cuisine in keeping with today’s tastebuds. The produce is fresh, the dishes are meticulously prepared, at common-sense prices, and the service is friendly; an enjoyable experience.

On the 32nd floor of the Part-Dieu Tower, aka as "The Pencil", admire the jaw-dropping cityscape while sampling a seasonal menu signed by talented chef Aude Andrillat. Her up-to-the-minute, inspired repertory unveils high-flying, delicate technique and a genuine flair for contrasts, illustrated in particular by her work with vegetables and seasonings and her knack for blending vibrant ingredients. An example: confit scallops in a vanilla-laced butter, lovage-flavoured soubise sauce and a praliné of squash seeds. Heroically irreverent!
