The secret of Linde's success is a formula of classic Swiss cuisine made from good ingredients coupled with reasonable prices. A lively atmosphere reigns in this attractive, well-run place with its various dining spaces, large bar area and glassed-in kitchen. Steak tartare and Zürcher Geschnetzeltes (veal) are among the permanent fixtures on the menu. For lunch, the offer is somewhat reduced. The wonderful terrace comes into its own in summer, and there are well-kept guestrooms too.

The trip out here into the countryside is definitely worth it! Clad in Swiss hardwood, the building housing this restaurant stands directly adjacent to a recreational area and close to the Reuss River. Chef Manuel Steigmeier presents bold, sophisticated dishes that are prepared with remarkable precision and distilled to their essence. Guided by the philosophy "Locally rooted, globally inspired", his set menu, which is based on outstanding ingredients, comprises modern interpretations of classics (eg "cappelletti, tomato, cheese, celery") and original creations such as "kohlrabi, wasabi, ginger

Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

Following its relocation within Lenzburg, Rosmarin entices diners with a cool concept: The modern setting allows for up to 12 guests to sit at a counter right by the open kitchen, where chef-patron Philipp Audolensky prepares a creative surprise menu comprising five to seven courses (vegetarian or vegan options are available by prior arrangement). Appetisers and pastries are prepared by Céline Huber. The tartare of premium Bremgarten salmon trout, enhanced with finely chopped kimchi for juiciness and a gentle spicy kick, and finished with a delicate, intensely aromatic chive mayonnaise, is a f

At this exceedingly well-run establishment dating from the 19C, you have the option of dining in either a snug tavern or an elegant restaurant. The shady terrace to the rear of the building is delightful in summer! Adept service comes courtesy of a friendly and laid-back front-of-house team. The cuisine emphasises regional and seasonal elements. Among the menu classics, the Wiener schnitzel clearly stands out. In the evening, order à la carte or opt for a six-course set menu. Lunchtime options are more limited and budget-friendly.

Steeped in over 200 years of history, this building makes for a really delightful setting: Bärenstube and Orangerie are full of charm and attention to detail. The garden is also attractive – a truly idyllic spot! The seasonal food has regional and Mediterranean influences. You will feel right at home in the pretty guestrooms.

After a successful stint at two-star restaurant 7132 Silver in Vals, Mitja Birlo has made the move to Zurich. In an impressive building next to the main train station – a prime city-centre location – he presents a cosmopolitan culinary concept that is truly one of a kind. In a relaxed, modern and elegant setting, diners take their seats on comfortable bar chairs at the counter right next to the open kitchen to observe the numerous exciting delicacies comprising the surprise menu being created – with the dishes explained by the chefs themselves. As well as drawing on fairtrade and organic produce, the chefs source ingredients locally wherever possible. The result is bold, flavour-rich dishes replete with interesting culinary combinations. Chef Julian Marti showcases his signature style in creations such as his wonderfully creamy risotto-style spelt with smoked eel, Swiss chard and dill – fantastic! The food takes the form of a four- to seven-course set menu – a vegan version is available by prior arrangement. In keeping with the modern cuisine, the dining space of this small restaurant on a corner plot has an appealingly minimalist de

In the chic fine dining restaurant of the luxurious Widder boutique hotel, chef Stefan Heilemann and his team skilfully bridge the gap between classic and modern, drawing on international influences. Thoughtful preparation and precise technique go into the elegant dishes. The set menu starts as it means to go on, with a veritable explosion of flavours, in the form of light bites such as a fluffy bao bun filled with pulled goulash and amuse-bouches including tender, delicately sweet Algarve prawns with a refined cauliflower foam and crispy frosted herb pearls.
