Thomas Scheucher's restaurant champions a pleasingly pared-back take on classic cuisine that highlights top-quality ingredients and delivers full flavour with charming simplicity. The menu features dishes such as vitello tonnato made from Andelsbuch veal topside and garnished with caper blossoms, and Lake Constance whitefish fillet with aubergine relish, lime and basil broth, and olive gnocchi. Today the building houses pretty hotel rooms and an extremely tasteful restaurant with authentic charm – plenty of wood and low ceilings make for a really cosy atmosphere. This charming old Rhine Valley building dating back to 1639 is quite something! A Dornbirn landmark right on the Marktplatz (still the market square), it has been sensitively renovated and restored, and now boasts five really beautiful historical rooms. Delicious Austrian cuisine with Mediterranean influences is on the menu – the Wiener schnitzel and fried chicken are as appetising as the pickled char with radish and rhubarb-wild garlic vinaigrette. The cuisine of Felix Messner – who runs the restaurant together with his brother Florian – is inspired by Austria and Vorarlberg.
