The menu is a journey through flavours that weave the traditions of Piacenza together with influences from other Italian regions. One of the highlights is their take on a Ligurian dish: Cappon magro di fiume, which combines sturgeon and trout with seasonal vegetables and salsa verde, creating fresh and lively contrasts. But the dish that won us over today is the charcoal-grilled pigeon: juicy meat, velvety liver pâté, a rich gravy and vegetables from the garden, in a perfect balance between technique and taste. The experience doesn't stop here: the wine list offers a wealth of rare and intrigu

Tucked beside the deconsecrated church of Sant’Agostino, a beautifully kept cloister ushers guests into the culinary world of chef Mauro Brina, a young talent with a stated preference for meat, yet one who truly comes into his own with seafood. Little wonder, then, that we recommend his marine preparations: the pisarei with shellfish or the fish soup brimming with tomato, crustaceans, mussels, cuttlefish, and the day’s catch. In fine weather, make a point of securing a table on the terrace, an evocative setting steeped in history and the timeless charm of the ancient convent.

A historical restaurant whose name recalls the origins of one of its earliest owners. Today this venue offers simple, traditional Piacenza cooking, where guests can enjoy excellent cured meats accompanied by vegetables from the restaurant’s own garden, fresh homemade pasta dishes, and main courses that also include offal preparations. Not to be missed are the fried veal brains: crispy on the outside, ultra soft within.

Still on the plain, yet already at the foot of the hills that can be glimpsed on the horizon, what from the outside presents itself as a typical country house surprises within with an elegant dining room that opens into a sort of veranda overlooking the garden and the greenery of the lower Piacenza countryside. The atmosphere is relaxed and most agreeable, ideally suited to a refined yet never formal lunch or dinner. The menu features references to local ingredients and recipes, alongside the excellent focaccia with ciccioli served among the bread course, a true speciality of the house. The co

Trattoria la Colonna

This classic-style restaurant with a recently renovated dining room is situated on the street that runs through the village of San Nicolò. Although the menu features some meat dishes (on Sundays in winter, this includes specialities such as boiled meats, preceded by anolini pasta in broth and ending with typical desserts such as ciambella cake with zabaione), it is particularly renowned for its wide selection of fish dishes. At lunchtime during the week, there’s a choice of simpler recipes, but if you ask, staff will be happy to offer you the longer evening menu.

The quality of the meat is outstanding.

In the heart of a medieval village, an inn of authentic charm welcomes guests with the captivating aromas of Piacenza cuisine and imaginative creations that surprise the palate, accompanied by local wines and distinguished labels from beyond the region. Heritage dishes speak of time-honored flavors, revisited with modern touches, while the inspector’s favorite remains the grilled cardoncelli mushrooms: intense aroma and pure taste. In the dining room, Sabrina radiates energy and smiles, presenting each dish with infectious passion. On winter evenings, crackling fireplaces warm the atmosphere;
