Guests consistently praise the lakeside location, direct beach access, well-kept village ambiance, friendly staff, generous breakfast, and child-friendly facilities. Common complaints involve wedding events blocking the pier and causing noise, aging apartments requiring better maintenance and occasional cleaning lapses, and relatively high dinner prices that affect overall value perception.

Frierss Feines Haus

Regional Cuisine, Fusion

€€€

The Frierss family are renowned for their sausages and other meat products. These wares are on site in their butcher's shop and well-stocked delicatessen, and are also to be found on the menu in this modern restaurant. Barbecued steaks feature among the mouth-watering specialities of the house, but there are fish and vegetarian options prepared in the open kitchen. Good selection of wines. A budget-friendly lunch deal is available, too. The staff are incredibly dedicated and friendly. Tip: You can also have breakfast here.

Housed in Hotel Voco, this elegant restaurant adjoins the bar and has a hip and modern feel. It draws a good crowd with its delightfully lively atmosphere and gorgeous riverfront setting. Opt for the fine dining set menu or order sophisticated international creations and regional classics à la carte. The delicious dishes showcase select produce such as the fantastic lamb or the excellent scallops. Short but well-curated wine list.

Alexandra Debre and Armin Rauscher, the dedicated duo behind this small but perfectly formed restaurant on a side street in the centre of Villach, are elevating the city's dining scene with their culinary expertise. In the open kitchen, the chef-patron prepares an ambitious four- or five-course set menu, which you can extend with an additional course of "Aurea Happen". The aromatic dishes include, for instance, "potato, Belper Knolle cheese, bacon, chives" or "dentex, Thai flavours, carrot, almond", to be accompanied by high-calibre Austrian wines by the glass. The charming hostess provides se

An absolute highlight here is the lakeside location. The trendy, elegantly designed restaurant flows seamlessly onto the terrace – with every table affording a view of the water. Creatively inspired Slow Food cuisine is presented in an appealing à la carte selection that marries regional produce with international accents. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The predominantly Austrian wine list is supplemented by Old World and a few New World picks, alongside an array of sparkling wines. With a wonderful courtyard terrace that truly feels like a garden, this restaurant in the Seehotel Hubertushof, located on the lake promenade, is aptly named! But if the weather is not cooperating, you can also dine inside, at a table in the tasteful, modern interior. The cuisine is made with local and organic ingredients and with a strong emphasis on seasonality. In addition to fresh fish – from the lake or the surrounding region – other recommended dishes include organic beetroot, Weidenwald, St Veit, organic sheep's cheese, pistachio, balsamic caviar, organic hemp oil, or Marillenknödel: ap
