Doubek

fine_dining · ★★ Michelin

€€€€

Partners Stefan Doubek and Nora Pein offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience. The open kitchen is the beating heart of this restaurant and is the perfect stage for the chef-patron. Food is cooked using four fire sources, and every dish is crafted with meticulous precision and attention to detail, showcasing a distinctive identity with subtly integrated Japanese influences. Only the finest ingredients that the market has to offer are used. The dishes may appear simple at first glance, but they are the result of days or even months of preparation. They are entirely unembellished, focusing solely

Pramerl & the Wolf

gourmet · ★ Michelin

€€€€

This former pub in Vienna's ninth district is now a great casual fine dining restaurant. In a pleasingly laid-back and intimate setting, diners receive attentive service from Wolfgang "the Wolf" Zankl-Sertl and his team. The cuisine, inspired by modern trends, is bold and replete with well-balanced contrasts and appealing textures. A shining example is the carbonara made with calamari, smoked eel and Parmesan – entirely pasta-free! The surprise menu, prepared with exceptional ingredients, can be paired with either wine or alcohol-free options. On Wed and Thu, dinner service begins at 7pm; on F

The fine dining restaurant of the Anantara Palais Hansen Hotel has a tasteful interior channeling an elegant style. It serves a seasonally inspired menu injected with fresh pops of colour by chef Paul Gamauf. His dishes show his penchant for vegetables and herbs, plus subtle Mediterranean influences. Preserves also play a role. The combination of flavours and textures is successful; all the components are extremely well balanced and beautifully presented. You can choose a set menu comprising five, seven or nine courses. This is accompanied by a sophisticated wine list with a penchant for Austr

Herzig

Sören Herzig's restaurant is located in the 15th district, on the ground floor of the historical Dorotheum-Fünfhaus (previously a pawnshop). In this listed building dating back to the 1920s, the dining space was once an auction hall and has a minimalist, industrial-style atmosphere that is reminiscent of a New York gallery – relaxed and distinctively stylish. Gorgeous hardwood flooring, comfortable designer chairs and artwork by the likes of Peter Jellitsch and Clemens Wolf underscore the tastefully chic interior. The spectacular rooftop terrace affords breathtaking views, making it an ideal s

JOLA

Vegan, Creative · ★ Michelin

€€€€

Jola takes its name from the charming duo behind this venture: Jonathan Wittenbrink, who delivers outstanding vegan cuisine, and Larissa Andres, who manages the service in the compact dining space with charm and aplomb. Seasonal and regional ingredients go into the creative surprise set menu, which features memorable dishes such as raviolo stuffed with aubergine ragout, served with courgette, lightly toasted pine nuts and a wonderfully intense tomato essence. Choose between wine and alcohol-free pairings. The setting is stylish and modern yet pleasingly laid back – the open kitchen certainly a

Korean Contemporary · ★ Michelin

€€€€

There is only space for a handful of diners at the L-shaped chef's table in this restaurant's minimalist dining space. A nine-course set menu is prepared in the fully open stainless steel kitchen – this culinary journey through Korea lasts approximately three hours. Authenticity is key, but local ingredients and European cooking techniques still find their place. This results in intensely flavoursome dishes such as "gochujang ceviche": slices of Austrian trout marinated in chilli paste, topped with a tangy grapefruit sabayon and finished with a delicate basil oil. The service is charming and a

Silvio Nickol Gourmet Restaurant

The exclusive Palais Coburg houses one of Vienna's premier dining destinations, a culinary hotspot for many years running. Executive chef Silvio Nickol and head chef Florian Daube present exceptionally creative cuisine featuring meticulously composed combinations of outstanding ingredients. Their distinctive style leaves a lasting impression – for example, in the wonderfully al dente white asparagus topped with crispy baby prawns and basil, or the rich, aromatic langoustine served with a shellfish-infused hollandaise and a citrus butter foam providing a delightful contrast. The "Genussreise" s

Konstantin Filippou

Modern Cuisine, Creative · ★★ Michelin

In Konstantin Filippou's elaborate tasting menu, the spotlight is firmly on fish and seafood, with meat largely absent or relegated to a supporting role. One standout dish is the delicate, mousse-like brandade of Amur carp and potato, served on a bed of al dente, slightly tart white asparagus, finished with fragrant toasted almond pieces and almond purée, plus a dollop of caviar. His strikingly modern seven- to nine-course set menu showcases top-quality ingredients from international markets. As a native Styrian with Greek roots, the chef-patron discreetly incorporates influences from both his
