Guest scores & sentiment

From 135 guest reviews · multi-source · as of 2026-07-19

Guests highly praise the hosts' warmth and attentiveness, spotless cleanliness, and excellent breakfast. The central location near attractions and free on-site parking are major highlights. Main drawbacks include compact rooms with dated or cluttered decor, occasional noise from single-glazed windows or creaky floors, and minor bathroom issues like low shower pressure or slow drainage. Overall, it offers great value and a welcoming atmosphere.

Fletcher's Restaurant

Modern British

££

It may be just around the corner from the Theatre Royal, but this warmly run restaurant is so much more than a convenient spot to eat in before curtain-up. From the good value lunch menu to the à la carte, the eponymous chef-owner, who is a local himself, knows how to cater for all tastes – and it’s clear that plenty of care and attention go into every dish.

Barbican Kitchen

An informal eatery in the Plymouth Gin Distillery (where gin was once distilled for the Navy). Brasserie menus offer a good choice of simply cooked dishes, with classic comfort food to the fore; vegetarians are well catered for.
