Situated in the city centre, this hotel is located in Valenciennes, close to Musee des Beaux-Arts and Stade Nungesser. A northern French city, Valenciennes was almost completely destroyed during the two world wars. Buildings that survived the wars include the façade of the city offices, Notre-Dame du Saint-Cordon, to which there is an annual pilgrimage, La Maison Espagnole, and Dodenne Tower, the remaining part of medieval fortifications. Beneath the high beamed ceiling, the honey-coloured parquet flooring, glass panels revealing the kitchen and a large exposed wine cellar are enhanced by shades of khaki and yellow. Chef Damien Franco presents a surprising and personal brand of cuisine.
