Villa Feltrinelli

Creative, Contemporary · ★★ Michelin

€€€€

Within the eponymous villa, one of the most spectacular hotels on Lake Garda, the experience unfolds in a setting of extraordinary beauty: the lake before you, the mountains behind, and all around a park of absolute tranquillity. The interiors, finished to the last detail, express a refined elegance enriched by fine fabrics and floral arrangements. The evening begins with an aperitif in the garden, accompanied by an unforgettable view of the lake, before continuing in the refined inner rooms or on the terrace. The gastronomic offering takes the form of a single, elaborate surprise tasting menu

La Tortuga

Italian Contemporary, Classic Cuisine · ★ Michelin

€€€€

In Gragnano, La Tortuga has been synonymous with quality and reliability for decades. The dining room, intimate and romantic in atmosphere, is made all the more agreeable by the welcoming manner of Signora Orietta, professional yet pleasingly informal, and a discerning judge of wine: the list bears eloquent testimony to this, with some interesting labels also in vintages. The kitchen delivers a reassuring and accomplished repertoire, built upon excellent produce, from lake fish – as in the very successful spaghettini with lake ragù – to the finest of sea fish. Il Fagiano

Italian Contemporary, Creative · ★ Michelin

€€€

In the sumptuous setting of the Grand Hotel Fasano, this restaurant decorated with a profusion of wood has just a few tables, where guests can choose between tasting menus (including a vegetarian option) and an à la carte selection. Although influences from chef Maurizio Bufi’s native Puglia and the Lake Garda region can be detected in the cuisine, other Italian regions (and indeed other countries) also make an appearance in the creative dishes, which are inspired by whatever ingredients are in season.

Standing on the Lake Garda road, this small, simple, yet far from ordinary restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes with the occasional inventive twist. Two words of advice – opt for alfresco dining in fine weather, and don’t miss the maccheroncini served with perch and lemon pesto sauce.

Situated in the upper part of the town near the Vittoriale estate, this rustic 18C building is the setting for regional cuisine prepared using seasonal ingredients. The charming small courtyard offers shade for summer dining, while the interior dining room also includes a single table on a small balcony which needs to be booked well in advance.

Villa Fiordaliso

Italian Contemporary

€€€€

Villa Fiordaliso is one of the beautiful early 20C villas that line the lake front. Surrounded by verdant grounds and extending out into the lake on a pontoon, the restaurant serves creative, modern cuisine. The chef is equally at ease with fish and meat dishes, while the extensive wine list suggests that you’ll have no problem finding your favourite wine here.

Felter alle Rose

Seasonal Cuisine, Italian

A trattoria that tells stories of family and tradition, renewed under the guidance of those who have made hospitality and quality their vocation. The spaces open up into different atmospheres: the authentic warmth of the dining room, the closed veranda that filters the soft light of the seasons, and the cellar, where the scent of wine accompanies tastings and aperitifs. The kitchen serves Italian dishes, prepared with simplicity and good taste, using fresh, seasonal ingredients: genuine flavours intertwined with the pleasure of feeling at home.

The new chef at this restaurant prioritises beautiful presentation in his modern interpretations of Italian dishes, which are even more enjoyable in summer when meals are served outdoors, surrounded by greenery and with fine views of the southern part of Lake Garda and its shoreline.
