One arrives by ascending to the first floor of a charming period building, where both the terrace for the warmer months and a light-filled dining room housed in a winter garden are to be found. Here natural light, lush plants and the delicate floor tiles create an atmosphere that is at once refined and welcoming. From the kitchen come creative offerings with pairings that are at times surprising, yet never betray the gastronomic soul of Rome: the flavours of tradition are reinterpreted through new textures and presentations, always maintaining a full and assertive taste capable of satisfying t

An authentic neighbourhood trattoria, were it not for the fact that its quality has by now carried its reputation well beyond the streets of Ostiense: the restaurant is often full and booking – by telephone only – is essential. The setting is simple and informal, yet has an immediate charm, entirely in keeping with the popular soul of the district. The kitchen focuses on the great Roman classics: carbonara, cacio e pepe, amatriciana and gricia open the dance of true flavours, accompanied by a few more creative proposals that add verve without distorting the identity of the house. From the ground floor, the lift leads to one of the city’s most evocative roof gardens: a terrace which, in winter, is enclosed and covered – thus usable in every season – directly overlooking the Colosseum. To your right unfolds the view of the Domus Aurea, in the distance a corner of the Altare della Patria can be glimpsed and, just beyond, the great dome of St Peter’s. The kitchen offers four tasting menus (of which one is vegetarian), with the option of also ordering individual dishes freely. Between classics of Roman tradition, Campanian influences and more contemporary creations unfolds

Far from the tourist crowds, this is an authentic neighborhood restaurant, beloved by Romans and regulars alike. The menu arrives verbally, as tradition dictates, and alongside a few fish offerings it is impossible to resist the most forthright repertoire of Roman cuisine: carciofi alla romana and alla giudia, eggplant polpette, tripe, sweetbreads, coratella. An irresistible parade of genuine flavors, served in small, simple, and welcoming dining rooms with a familial feel. Tables are few: reservations are strongly recommended.

A young chef of undisputed talent is the driving force behind this discreet restaurant, hidden away behind the busier, more touristy streets of Trastevere. We are speaking of Antonio Ziantoni and his cuisine: creative, yet always governed by rigour and restraint, and built on solid classic foundations. Through precise and delicate technical steps, ingredients of outstanding quality are transformed into dishes that are generous and well balanced, capable of delivering full, rounded and deeply satisfying flavours. A telling example? Quail with sage and carnation flowers. The cellar is equally ac

Glass Hostaria

Creative, International · ★ Michelin

In the heart of the most authentic Trastevere, among streets bustling with trattorias, Glass is located in what was once a carriage workshop – a detail still perceptible from the high ceilings – now transformed into a modern, refined restaurant. The cooking of Cristina Bowerman, while allowing certain echoes of Lazio’s culinary traditions to surface, expresses itself above all in a creative register, drawing with ease upon influences from other gastronomic cultures, from Asia to Latin America. Considerable care is devoted to the sourcing of ingredients, selected through trusted and sustainable

In the heart of Rome, a true gastronomic journey without boundaries begins, articulated through different menus according to the experience chosen: from Circus, “an itinerary that knows no limits”, to Scintille, centred on essential flavours and creative gestures, through to Parallels, an exclusive experience served in a private room of even greater intimacy.Guiding this narrative is Anthony Genovese, cosmopolitan chef-patron of personal vision and crystalline talent, capable of surprising even in moments closest to tradition, such as the Tortello, evocative of childhood memories, or the origi

Idylio by Apreda

Italian Contemporary, Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

An elegant dining room in shades of blue and orange is the backdrop for Francisco Apreda’s cuisine, in which this chef combines Italian cuisine with spicy and Asian-influenced flavours thanks to his time spent working in Asia. He offers various tasting menus: one dedicated to his classic favourites, a second featuring his new dishes, and a third for vegetarians. There’s also an excellent wine list, with an extensive selection of wines by the glass.
