Mee

Asian Influences · ★ Michelin

$$$$

If you’re looking for an Asian dining experience close to Copacabana beach, make sure you book a table at Mee, an excellent option within the walls of the “Copa” (Copacabana Palace hotel). In this elegant restaurant where modernity and exoticism combine together harmoniously, the focus is on pan-Asian fusion cuisine that takes the tastebuds on a gastronomic journey to discover the flavours of Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Japan, Singapore etc. Chef Alberto Morisawa was born in São Paulo but his family origins are in Madara Shima (Nagasaki, Japan), hence the dominant influence of Japanese cooki

Oteque

Modern Cuisine · ★ Michelin

$$$$

Stepping through the gate of its discreet façade means leaving the bustle of everyday life behind and entering a space with a soaring ceiling height, where the past lives alongside the most modern vanguard. The main room carries a faintly industrial air, retaining its weathered red-brick walls, and is dominated by six large round tables and one special elongated table for five set before the open kitchen. The celebrated chef Alberto Landgraf is defined by simplicity and naturalness—hallmarks visible in his efforts to champion Brazilian roots and the transparency of flavours. His proposition ce

Lasai

Modern Cuisine, Innovative · ★★ Michelin

$$$$

Dining at this restaurant with just 10 seats is like attending a show, but with the best seats in the house! Although it starts out quietly, the kitchen comes to life as the chefs embark on the task in hand, with interesting interaction between chef Rafa Costa e Silva and his guests. The surprise tasting menu begins with a variety of appetisers in which vegetables take centre stage – displayed on a wooden tray illuminated by a spotlight on the counter – and served in different forms and textures. These are organically grown in line with the seasons and are mainly sourced from the chef’s garden

Oseille

Modern Cuisine, Creative · ★ Michelin

Fortunately, there are still restaurants that exist with a strong family lineage – and Oseille is a perfect example. Run by chef Thomas Troisgros (son of Claude Troisgros, grandson of Pierre Troisgros and nephew of Michel Troisgros), it is located in the heart of Ipanema, right above the Toto restaurant (also part of his stable). Here, in a minimalist space that stands out for its profusion of wood and the prominence of a 16-seat “U”-shaped counter with a kitchen in the middle, guests can enjoy a heightened fine-dining experience through a unique, and modern-inspired tasting menu divided into

The menu, which follows the concept of “comfort food”, concentrates on traditional Brazilian recipes which are always meticulously presented and based around the latest techniques, and is divided between Miam Miam’s classic (and most popular) dishes and seasonal options (whic
