Facing the monumental Plateresque façade of the church of the Convento de San Esteban, iconic for its stone altarpiece design, and wit two dining rooms featuring a contemporary atmosphere, the main one with an open kitchen to enjoy the different creative processes as they happen. Here the chef Rocío Parra, always well supported in the dining room and in the wine cellar by her husband (Alberto Rodríguez), remains faithful to a modern cuisine with local and traditional roots. Her proposal focuses on two tasting menus, Granito and Pizarra, whose name is a small tribute to the characteristics of t

In a location opposite the Palacio de Congresos de Castilla y León that is relatively easy to find despite being away from the city’s main tourist haunts, Víctor Gutiérrez, a chef who admits to having a 'Spanish soul and a Peruvian heart', showcases cuisine based around three strong principles: ingredients, technique and feeling. Now, ably supported in the kitchen by his daughters (Paula as head chef and Andrea as maître d'), he offers a fairly limited à la carte service and a single tasting menu called Raíces (14 courses) which reveal his full passion and an unquestionable splash of creativit

A modern gastro-bar with the soul of a restaurant located just a few metres from the city’s iconic Plaza Mayor. At Bambú, the open kitchen, traditional cuisine and grilled dishes reinterpreted from a more contemporary perspective are the main highlights, although you’ll also find hints of fusion and strong flavours from other parts of the world. Choose between tapas, half-plates and dishes designed for sharing, alongside an interesting tasting menu. Dishes we can recommend include the classic truffled duck egg, the highly original chicken chilli doughnut, the braised avocado with pipirrana, an

Situated in an impressive setting just a few steps from the Plaza Mayor, where head chef Carlos Hernández del Río conjures up contemporary cuisine that is both technical and in tune with its local surroundings. His focus is on showcasing ingredients from Salamanca province (Consentido has its own organic vegetable garden and vineyards, and produces cocktails and drinks made from ingredients they harvest themselves) as well as championing recipes from the region of Castille. The à la carte, which includes half-plate options and surprising dishes such as grilled spring onions from the banks of t

If you like the idea of market-influenced cuisine with a global touch, this restaurant in the heart of the city will undoubtedly appeal. Behind the striking façade of a century-old building is this charming dining space with an eclectic feel split between several floors that in the past was owned by an antique dealer, which explains some of its unusual decorative detail. The cuisine here is showcased exclusively on two menus (De Mercado and Degustación Salamanca), on which we particularly enjoyed the wild sea bass with a mussel beurre blanc, spinach and samphire. In the heart of Salamanca, as the flagship of the welcoming Eunice Hotel Gastronómico, there is a restaurant with soul, as chef José Manuel Pascua constantly seeks harmonies between tradition and modernity, respecting the culinary legacy learned from his grandmother (the hotel bears her name). At the same time, he champions what he calls ‘purist cuisine’, very respectful of cooking times and focused on exalting the best seasonal products of the area. You can choose between à la carte service or one of their tasting menus: Celemín and Media Fanega.

Located in the very heart of Salamanca’s historic quarter, just a few steps from the monumental Plateresque façade of the university featuring the famous sculpture of a frog (or is it a toad?) popular with tourists, this restaurant boasts a stylish setting with a classic-cum-contemporary feel. Based around seasonal ingredients sourced from around the province, the à la carte includes interesting international influences – the result of experience acquired by owner-chef Alberto Hernández in countries as diverse as China, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Mexico etc. Attractive set daily menu.
