Tilia

★ Michelin€€€€Modern Cuisine, Contemporary

This glass and steel cube in the middle of the garden of the former Grand Hotel in Dobbiaco has been home to the Tilia restaurant since 2010 and is now more intimate than ever, with just five tables and seating for 12 diners (booking is highly recommended). Chef Chris Oberhammer’s menu is enticing, featuring just under 20 dishes with a modern yet regional flavour. Many of the ingredients (such as the flour and some of the meat) are sourced from the “Klaude” farm which is run by one of the chef’s childhood friends with whom he works very closely, while other more exotic fare comes from further

TripAdvisor review sample · 4.8/5 · 101 reviews

Located in Dobbiaco, Tilia offers modern contemporary cuisine with an average rating of 4.8/5 from 80 reviews. Food quality is highly praised, with Chef Oberhammer creating surprising dishes using local ingredients. Menus change frequently, offering 3-5 course chef's choice options suitable for omnivores and vegetarians. Service is generally excellent, particularly Anita’s wine pairings, though isolated complaints regarding attitude exist. The atmosphere is warm, but some diners noted insufficient lighting during evening meals. While minor issues with value and pacing were mentioned, the restaurant remains a top-tier destination for gastronomic experiences.

Ideal for diners seeking high-quality modern cuisine and refined wine pairings; verify table lighting conditions in advance.

Bib Gourmand 1

Durnwald

Bib Gourmand€€regional

A delicious plate of Schlutzkrapfen (ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta) is just what’s needed after a good day’s skiing or a hike through the woods. And that’s not all – Durnwald celebrates the Alto Adige in all its glory, both in terms of its landscapes, which can be admired from the dining room windows, and its cuisine, which keeps alive the region’s authentic traditions. The owner himself is at the helm front of house – a perfect host who guides guests in their choice of food and wine.

TripAdvisor review sample · 4.4/5 · 80 reviews

Located in the Casies Valley, Durnwald specializes in regional and Scandinavian-inspired cuisine. Reviews highlight high-quality ingredients and skilled preparation, featuring dishes such as smoked cold cuts, dumplings, venison goulash, apple pancakes, and tagliolino with blood and gray cheese. The atmosphere is described as warm and welcoming, with generally polite and attentive service. However, some guests reported issues including order errors, inconsistent meal pacing, and overly salty food. A few negative reviews criticized specific items like braised meat. While most praise the culinary excellence and value, occasional service lapses suggest diners should manage expectations regarding precision.

Ideal for diners prioritizing ingredient quality and traditional flavors, though verifying orders is advised to avoid service oversights.
