Grand Hôtel de Solesmes
White asparagus, hollandaise sauce; slow-cooked egg, artichoke emulsion; saddle of lamb, chickpea purée and, above all, the excellent Cointreau hot soufflé… A reliable family-run establishment that defies its age and serves delicate, classic cuisine that immediately wins diners over; no corners are cut when it comes to the quality of the ingredients. What's more, the welcome and service are charming and do justice to this former coaching inn, which, in the 19C, welcomed the monks of the nearby Benedictine abbey.

Grand Hôtel de Solesmes holds an average rating of 4.2/5. Positive reviews highlight attentive service, high food quality, and a tranquil atmosphere. Guests appreciate the polite staff, proper pacing between courses, and elegant presentations, with specific praise for desserts like chocolate entremets and apricot variations. However, negative feedback points to inconsistencies: some diners experienced rushed service, cold dishes (such as pumpkin mousse or cod), overly salty flavors, and lack of garnishes. Issues with noisy air conditioning were also noted. While the setting is spacious and well-maintained, the culinary execution varies, with some meals described as mediocre or disappointing compared to others.
Suitable for diners seeking classic cuisine and a quiet atmosphere, though verifying dish temperatures and avoiding peak times is advisable.
