Where to Base

Stay along the Lungomare or in the historic center for the best experience. These areas offer direct access to the beach, the old port, and a variety of dining options. The walkable layout is ideal for leisure travelers who prefer to explore on foot without needing immediate car rental.

Getting Around

There is no direct airport connection. Travelers typically fly into Cagliari (CAG) or Olbia (OLB) and take regional buses or rent a car to reach Arbatax, which takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on the origin. Within the town, walking is sufficient for most needs. For exploring the surrounding Gulf of Orosei or inland sites, renting a car is highly recommended.

Best Season

The best time to visit is between May and September when the weather is warm and the sea is inviting for swimming. July and August are peak months with more activity but also larger crowds. Spring and autumn offer milder temperatures and fewer tourists, providing a more serene atmosphere. Some seasonal services may be limited during the winter months.
