This is the second restaurant of the idyllically situated Hohenhaus hotel, a magnificent property steeped in history. The interior has a classic, rustic decor and a warm atmosphere – plus a lovely 18C tiled stove. The seasonal cuisine is based on premium ingredients, sourced from the region for the most part. Delicious options include barbecued wild game sausage made with meat hunted on site and served with Hohenhaus potato mash, or braised local mutton. It is a treat to sit on the terrace and take in the surrounding countryside.

The elegant fusion of modern style and historical details lends the place atmosphere. The evening menu is ambitious, fresh and full of flavour, with appetising options such as beef bourgignon, dried fig crumble and potato-parsnip mash.
