Aira

Aira is not a city but a genus of Old World plants in the grass family, native to western/southern Europe, central/southwest Asia, and Africa. Commonly known as hair-grass due to its slender leaves and stems, it grows on dry, sandy sites and reaches 20–40 cm in height. Several species are cultivated as ornamental plants for their delicate, airy seed heads, often used in dried flower arrangements. Many former species have been reclassified into other genera such as Agrostis, Deschampsia, and Koeleria. As a botanical taxon rather than a geographic location, Aira does not offer hotels, airports, or tourist infrastructure for travelers.
