Portland International Airport PDXKPDX
Portland International Airport (PDX) is Oregon’s main commercial airport and an important Alaska Airlines hub, with Horizon Air regional flying feeding much of the Northwest network. It is not a giant global alliance mega-hub: frequent flyers will find a strong Alaska/Oneworld presence, useful domestic coverage across the U.S. West and major hubs, plus a modest but meaningful international network to Canada, Mexico and selected Europe routes such as London, Amsterdam, Reykjavik and seasonal Frankfurt. The airport has one passenger terminal with four active concourses: B and C on the south side, D and E on the north side. PDX’s rebuilt main terminal has two checkpoint areas, and the airport states that all gates can be reached from either checkpoint, so domestic airside transfers are usually straightforward. For downtown Portland, the MAX Red Line is usually the simplest option, running directly from the airport station by baggage claim to the city centre in roughly 40 minutes; road transfers are faster only when traffic cooperates.
