Ibrahim Nasir International Airport MLEVRMM

Malé’s MLE is now branded Velana International Airport, though many travelers still know it by the former Ibrahim Nasir International Airport name. It is the Maldives’ primary international gateway rather than a big alliance hub: Maldivian, Trans Maldivian Airways and several local transfer operators base important domestic, seaplane and resort-transfer activity here, while global airlines mostly use MLE as a destination. Frequent flyers should treat it less like Doha or Singapore and more like a gateway-and-transfer airport: international arrivals often move landside to domestic flights, seaplanes or resort speedboats, and many resort transfers are coordinated by hotel desks rather than normal airline connections.
