São Paulo-Guarulhos (GRU) is São Paulo’s main international airport and one of Brazil’s key hubs, with strong LATAM Brasil and GOL connectivity and some Azul domestic service. It handles long-haul intercontinental flights, regional South America services and a large domestic network, so it works well for connections but is not friction-free: international-to-domestic transfers usually mean immigration, baggage reclaim if not through-checked, customs and security again. For frequent flyers, the practical pattern is simple: Terminal 3 is the main long-haul international terminal, Terminal 2 is the mixed domestic/regional workhorse, and Terminal 1 is smaller and mostly domestic. Build extra time for terminal moves, passport control and São Paulo traffic.
