Hamad International Airport DOHOTHH
Hamad International Airport (DOH) is Qatar Airways’ home base and one of oneworld’s key Gulf transfer hubs, built primarily around international connections rather than domestic flying. For transit passengers it is relatively simple: one integrated passenger terminal, split into concourses A, B, C, D and E, with airside transfer routes, moving walkways and airport shuttles for the more distant gates. The airport works well for same-ticket connections, but it is large, busy during Qatar Airways connection banks, and not a place to treat separate-ticket self-transfers casually. For Doha itself, the Metro Red Line is the most predictable way into the centre; taxis are better for hotel-door convenience or late-night arrivals. Long layovers are unusually manageable thanks to an airside hotel, sleep pods, quiet rooms, lounges, an indoor garden and organised transit/stopover options, subject to visa and airline eligibility.
