This authentic and sophisticated dining experience is the brainchild of Frank Xu, the descendant of a Shenzhen cooking dynasty. Some of his signature creations include dim sum of foie gras, fillet of seabass in ginger, Peking-style duck (served in two courses), or shrimps in a balanced blend of breadcrumbs, garlic and chili peppers. The “Diamond” menu for two, which includes duck, is highly recommended. In the medieval village of Nernier on the banks of Lake Geneva between Yvoire and Messery, this charming country inn is warm and hospitable. Rustic (rafters, terracotta tiles) and contemporary features (pendant lights, designer chairs) rub shoulders in a match made in heaven. The market-fresh menu errs towards the traditional, whilst demonstrating the utmost reverence for the seasons. An old-fashioned restaurant of the type that is quite hard to find these days. It has Art Deco-style wood panelling, enamel plaques and coloured windows, as well as a terrace overlooking the surrounding greenery. There is also a traditional feel to the menu, which includes perch from Lake Geneva.
