Access is via the inner courtyard of an elegant period building, where, on sunny days, the outdoor tables buzz with conversation and delicious smells. Upstairs, there is a large, bright dining room flanked by two cosy side rooms that are perfect for conversing. In the main room, a climate-controlled wooden display case catches the eye: inside are precious bottles, from the intense reds of Langa and Roero to wines that tell stories from every corner of the world. The menu is a journey through the flavours of Piedmont: dishes that exude tradition, such as “Gobbi di Nizza Monferrato” (cardoons dr

This restaurant run by an enthusiastic and friendly family (now joined by the fourth generation) has been serving traditional Piedmontese cuisine since 1919. The outdoor dining space is particularly charming when the wisteria is in bloom.

Osteria La Pimpinella

Situated in the historic centre but near a square with a car park, this modern inn serves Piedmontese cuisine which is contemporary in style yet still firmly anchored in local traditions. The generously portioned, well-presented dishes on the menu include vitello tonnato (excellent – we tried it!), tajarin pasta, Bra sausage and casseroles (the soft suckling pig cheek was delicious), all of which are as much a feast for the eyes as for the palate. The restaurant is run by an enthusiastic couple, aided by proficient and courteous staff with a feminine touch.

To get to this welcoming restaurant, it’s best to leave the car in one of the convenient car parks just outside the town walls a short walk from Cherasco’s quiet, picturesque historic centre with its two perpendicular streets. At Osteria La Torre, the friendly female staff will happily guide you through the menu, which features traditional dishes prepared in contemporary style – we particularly enjoyed the egg, cardoon and fondue dish, followed by breaded veal rump as our main course. If you’re a fan of snails, you really must try them here as Cherasco is renowned for this speciality. The exte

Owner-chef Gian Piero Vivalda creates top-quality menus featuring expertly prepared, colourful and aromatic dishes. Popular with food-lovers from Italy and abroad, Antica Corona Reale is also a point of reference for many local businesses who supply it with capon, guinea fowl, veal, Carmagnola peppers, porcini mushrooms and much more besides. Scuderie Sabaude
Piedmontese, Modern Cuisine

Just steps from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, the restaurant is reached through a timeless courtyard, enhanced by a meticulously tended garden. Within the rustic spaces of the former royal stables, a cuisine takes shape that showcases a selection of top-tier meats, cooked strictly over charcoal. Center stage is Piedmontese scottona (young heifer offered in various aging stages) alongside cuts of Chianina and Alpina beef, the result of careful sourcing and expert preparation designed to highlight texture and flavor.

Located beside the ancient castle walls, the restaurant welcomes guests with a veranda overlooking the Langhe and an intimate dining room where the atmosphere turns hushed and inviting. The cuisine looks to local tradition, yet embraces well-calibrated seafood forays, such as octopus with black-eyed peas, as well as contemporary interpretations, including standout tajarin with shredded ossobuco and fragrant gremolata.
