The Nest - Lake Taupo
Lake Taupo Lodge's creation was started 30 years ago by Gary and Shirley when they purchased 10 acres of wild bush in Acacia bay overlooking Lake Taupo. Both of them are keen gardeners and Gary has a particular love of wildlife so the native bush formed the perfect haven for his love of birds. From there they split it up into 3 lots retaining the 3 and 1/2 acre lodge site for themselves. This award winning lodge is a designer's delight, inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, it is set within magnificent landscaped gardens overlooking beautiful Lake Taupo and the mountains. Lake Taupo Lodge reflects owners Gary and Shirley Akers love of beauty and quality. The focus is on gracious living and the seven guest suites are luxurious examples of world class accommodation. All are en-suite, are superbly appointed, each with their own balcony or terrace and stunning lake and garden views. Lake Taupo is one of the New Zealand's finest recreational playgrounds and is reputed as being one of the best trout fishing areas in the world. The sweeping landscapes and exotic geothermal areas provide a wealth of unique activities that capture the imagination of all who come here.
