This restaurant has been in the same family for over 300 years. Diners can sit inside in the wonderful, wood-panelled dining room or outside on the pretty garden terrace to enjoy the flavoursome fare. Run by Thierry and Elisabeth Falconnier, this charming restaurant is a real institution in the Freiburg area. Set in a little house by Gundelfingen's railway station, the place has a cheerful, easygoing feel. Inside, watercolours by the owners' daughter adorn the walls; outside, the cosy terrace is lovely in summer. True to his roots, the chef-patron serves up French cuisine – pleasingly pared down, brimming with flavour and made from excellent ingredients.
