The first floor of the long-established Zur Schwane hotel is home to a wonderfully chic restaurant, whose decor embodies a harmonious blend of old and new. A highly adept kitchen team creates modern dishes with classical foundations, homing in on the essentials: ingredients and flavours. The carefully selected produce is sourced locally if possible, and some even comes from the hotel's garden. The chefs also have a penchant for herbs. In this centuries-old inn in the beautiful old town, this is a truly charming alternative to the fine dining restaurant. Both the inviting, rustic-style restaurant room and fantastic inner courtyard are appealing places to eat. In the evening, you can order modern-inspired classic dishes à la carte or opt for the "Romantik" set menu. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced; some of the vegetables are from their own garden, and they have their own wines. Hearty meals (‘Brotzeit’) are served at lunchtime.

Your dedicated hosts, Heidrun Kaufmann and Markus Lösch, really know how to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere: she provides cordial service with a personal touch; he cooks up ambitious dishes brimming with bold flavours – venison ragout fin with rye bread gnocchi, or sea bass with artichokes and lemon polenta.
