The Hotel, close to Siena, offers all that is special about Tuscany with a modern twist. The historic building sits among stunning scenery and although it has been totally modernised, it retains the ancient Tuscan tradition of offering the very best of hospitality and food. Dating back to the 1100s, the buildings were a farmhouse called 'La Strada' which was attached to the famous Sienese Pilgrims Hospital of Santa Maria dell Scala. Nowadays with the renovations complete, it has been transformed into an elegant Hotel with a wonderful atmosphere. The present management's extensive local knowledge and attention to detail will ensure that your stay at the Hotel is in every way, an authentic Tuscan experience. Only 10 km from the centre of Siena, the location is ideal for exploring, as both the ancient Roman road the 'Cassia' and the pilgrim's way to Rome the 'Via Franciegena' run directly past the Hotel, leading to many famous sights. The rolling hills of 'Le Crete', the lively town of Montepulciano and its famous wines, the charm and elegance of Pienza the Pope's town, the majestic Montepulciano and many other special attractions are all within easy reach.
