Miami International Airport MIAKMIA

Miami International Airport (MIA) is one of the key U.S. gateways to Latin America, the Caribbean and South America, and a major American Airlines / oneworld hub rather than a simple regional airport. It also has broad non-oneworld long-haul coverage, especially in the South Terminal. The airport is physically one large terminal complex split into North, Central and South terminals, so frequent flyers should think in concourses: D is American’s main home; E is mixed but still important for American and oneworld; F/G handle a mix of domestic, Caribbean and lower-cost operators; H/J cover Delta, Star Alliance and many non-U.S. international airlines. Landside transfers use Level 3 moving walkways; inside Concourse D use the Skytrain, and in Concourse E use the eTrain. For downtown Miami, the most predictable route is MIA Mover to Miami Intermodal Center, then Metrorail Orange Line to Government Center or Brickell, typically about 30–40 minutes door to downtown platform with normal waits. U.S. international transit is not sterile: arriving international passengers normally clear immigration/customs and may need to re-clear security, so tight self-connections are risky.
